Crescent (NV / Monark-Crescent)
The Nyman companies in Uppsala, known for the Crescent bicycle brand, built outboards from 1913 and had a bestseller in the small air-cooled NV Marin from 1954. After the 1960 merger with Monark, the company became Monark-Crescent (MCB), which in 1965 took over Electrolux's outboards with the Penta and Archimedes brands. The same engines were sold under several names. Volvo Penta bought the outboard division in 1973 and ended production in Uppsala in 1979.
