What data we process
| Details | Purpose | Legal basis | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Waiting list and enquiries: email, interest, context, free text and your consent | Email you when Marinpedia opens and, if you ask us to, send your enquiry to boatyards when the service opens | Consent | Until you unsubscribe, for no more than 24 months after Marinpedia opens |
| Alerts: email address, make, model, part number and search terms | Email you when a listing matches your saved search | Consent | Until you cancel the alert. Unconfirmed alerts are deleted after 7 days. |
| Autumn and spring plan: email, selected engine, a random key for the links in the emails, and timestamps for sign-up, confirmation and sending | Email the plan for your engine and a reminder before each season | Consent | Deleted when you unsubscribe using the link in the email. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 7 days. |
| Listings: name, email, phone, photos and municipality | Review and publish your listing so buyers can contact you | Contract (the terms for listings) | Until the listing is removed, plus 30 days |
| Hashed IP address | Limit the number of attempts per hour and protect against spam and abuse | Legitimate interest (security) | Deleted after 48 hours |
| Contact details viewed: listing, time and hashed IP address | Protect sellers against the harvesting of contact details and measure whether listings receive enquiries | Legitimate interest (security and operation) | Deleted after 12 months |
| Email log: hashed email address, time sent and delivery status | Limit how often emails are sent and troubleshoot delivery | Legitimate interest (operations) | Deleted after 90 days |
Email and phone number are not shown in the listing. Buyers only see them when they click Show contact details. We never sell your details and do not use them for advertising.
Service book
- We store the boat and engine names, the entries you add and, if you choose, your email.
- The service book can only be opened with the secret link. It isn't listed in search engines.
- The buyer link is optional. You can turn it off whenever you like.
- An empty service book is deleted after 30 days.
- Delete service book removes everything immediately.
- Your email is only used to send you the link.
Account
- An account is optional. Everything on Marinpedia works without one.
- We store your email address and, for each passkey, its public key and the device name, for example iPhone.
- For each login, we store the device name and when you were last active. A login stays valid for 90 days.
- Login codes are stored only as a hash and expire after 10 minutes.
- Delete account removes your account immediately, along with the service books in it.
Who receives the data
Marinpedia runs on Cloudflare (Workers, the D1 database and image storage). Cloudflare is a data processor and processes the data only on our behalf.
Cloudflare may process data outside the EU/EEA. The transfer is based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which Cloudflare is certified.
The forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a human is submitting them.
Alert emails, plan emails, login codes and emails with the link to your service book are sent via Resend (Resend, Inc., USA), from the EU region eu-west-1. Resend processes your email address and the content of the email on our behalf.
Enquiries are only sent to boatyards once the service opens, and only if you have asked us to.
Your rights
You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to processing, to obtain your data in a machine-readable format and to withdraw your consent at any time.
Email us to exercise your rights: hej@marinpedia.se. We will respond within one month.
You can lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY): imy.se
Cookies and local storage
Marinpedia uses cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views without storing IP addresses or personal data.
We also have our own counters that tally, per day, how many people sign up for alerts and the plan, download the calendar file, click links in emails and the calendar and go on to shops, and how many emails we send. The counters use no cookies and store no IP addresses or other personal data.
The brygga_lang cookie stores your language choice. Local storage in your browser stores My boat, whether you've closed the language suggestion, edit links to your listings and links to your service books. This data stays in your browser and isn't sent to us.
When you log in, we set two cookies: __Host-mp_s keeps you logged in and mp_in shows My account in the menu. They are necessary for logging in and are only set when you log in.
They are needed for the site to work as you have chosen, so we do not ask for consent. You can clear them by deleting cookies and site data for Marinpedia in your browser settings.
