Archimedes
Archimedes was founded in 1907 by the Hult brothers and became known for its Balans outboard with two opposed cylinders, from 1912. Electrolux bought the company in 1941 and in 1944 also took over Penta's outboards. The factory in Mariehäll closed in 1966 when Monark Crescent took over production, but engines under the Archimedes and Archimedes-Penta names were sold until 1979.
